My 15 Seconds of Fame

Thank you Whitney for discovering me. Here's the story as it was told to me:

Whitney was traveling home to Alameda from Houston on Friday, February 1. While flying back she began to browse Spirit, the Southwest Airlines complimentary in-flight magazine. As she wandered upon page 24, she thought to herself, "That looks like Alisa."

Upon further investigation she read the by line and confirmed that it was in fact Alisa right next to a kid dressed as Elvis and a giant dog. Check me out:

A big thank you goes out to Courtney, the artistic genious behind this shot, and 63, my partner in crime and a great high-fiver. Thank you to my parents and family who have always supported me and encouraged me to dream big. And thank you Whitney for being the sister-in-law I never had.

when should I expect my autographed copy? This cements your position as coolest aunt ever.

How the heck?? I've long considered this among my favorite jumping pictures. Did you submit the photo to Spirit? Courtney? 63? And who says Cob is from the SLC?? Don't you know how proud that girl is of being from California?? Proudest of the proud! Congrats on the publication...that's way longer than 15 seconds...that baby will be in circulation for months!!

Talking to you on the phone about this picture just didn't do it justice. You are famous. OMG, i have a famous friend. My life is complete. As your Life Coach, I heretofor, retire.

Oh alisa, I couldn't have done it without you, literally.

Alisa-I always knew you would be famous. If any of us would make it big it would be you. How the heck did you take that picture???

I submitted the picture without telling Courtney or Alisa. Sorry Gals. I hope that was OK with ya'll. And of course Renee I would not have put that CornCobb was from SLC. I think told them that I was taken on a recent trip to SF from SLC. And then I gave the names of those involved. They must have assumed that we were all from SLC. You all know what happens when you assume.

What gives? That's weird. Why was the picture in the magazine and what were you doing to take the picture?

my name is amy said...

this is the best 15 seconds of fame ever. maybe you can use the photo in an ad campaign of your own...

i am in marketing aren't i? amy, you are a genious. next campaign: lexis, soaring above the rest. OR jump ahead with lexis. OR lexis, going above and beyond.

the secret of this picture: 63 and i jumped in the air at the same time and courtney went snap with the camera. not rocket science, guys. i guess those of you who are jumping picture virgins can begin to see the joy that is the jumping picture!!

How do you get 10 people to comment on your blog? I think they're just trying to be part of your 15-minute entourage...

I got to see the photo up close and personal this weekend, as Amy picked up a copy of Spirit on Southwest when she headed out to Portland for a visit. It's even better in real life!!

Perhaps you will introduce the concept of jumping pictures to millions - but so far the only ones I have seen are taken by Mormons - that may be why they assumed Courtney was from SLC.

It is an awesome picture! Congrats to Courtney as well.
